TEKNOWLEDGE WORLDWIDE TO DONATE OVER $40,000 IN UPGRADES TO MISSION FIT IN ANNUAL #TEKSGIVING EVENT
Project will help at-risk youth in Baltimore and beyond build community through health, fitness, and positivity. [Baltimore] (September 2023) – October 20-22, 2023, members from TeKnowledge Worldwide (TKW) will join forces at MissionFit headquarters in Baltimore to deliver, install, and configure a state-of-the-art technology package that will upgrade and add to existing infrastructure. Included in this package are security cameras, updated wi-fi connectivity, and podcast equipment to spread their mission beyond their front door. “The youth of this city face barriers everywhere they turn,” says Wes Jamison, Interim Executive Director of MissionFit. “We’ve been working for nearly a decade to disrupt those barriers. Young people deserve a safe space that they can exercise, and that space should be just as nice, just as fancy, and the equipment should be just as good as the ones that adults across the country enjoy. They should be proud to come to this space, and the #TeksGiving grant allows us to provide better resources to our youth, a safer, upgraded space and hopefully one that they’re proud to bring their friends to.” Mikail Ocasio, owner of Trican Security and proud member of TKW, agrees. He said, “I brought my children to take advantage of all the wonderful programs and promote healthy living. I know MissionFit will use all the new technology to improve the quality of their programs even more.” MissionFit is the next in a line of community organizations that has benefitted from the annual #TeksGiving grant through TKW. Last year, Berachah Church in Cheltenham, PA received more than $175,000 worth of services and products. The year before, the Ben Wilson Senior Center in Warminster, PA was the awardee, receiving a brand new entertainment, communication and wi-fi package that benefitted not only the senior citizens who utilized the building, but the special needs youth groups who called the facility home as well.
