TEKNOWLEDGE WORLDWIDE TO DONATE OVER $30,000 IN UPGRADES TO LA ESCUELITA BILINGUAL PRESCHOOL IN ANNUAL #TEKSGIVING EVENT
[Davidson, NC] (September 2024) – October 12th-13th, members from TeKnowledge Worldwide (TKW) will be bringing their annual #TEKSGiving philanthropic event to North Carolina. More than 40 TKW professionals from all over the country and Canada will collectively donate over 800 hours of expertise to La Escuelita Bilingual Preschool in Davidson, NC. They will be delivering, installing, and configuring an upgraded network infrastructure, WiFi, security and audio/visual system. In addition to these upgrades and installations, a full wireless survey will be completed for the entire campus. “We have a great group of students who challenge us every day to ensure we are closing the achievement gap between them and their English-speaking peers. Their families depend on us to help them blossom and realize the same opportunities for growth and success,” says Michelle Covey, Director of La Escuelita. “It’s incredibly rewarding, but a true challenge given the technological barriers we face. Having TeKnowledge Worldwide partner with us in such an incredible way, we know we are going to be able to provide so much more to our students and their families, and we are so grateful to have them!” Ryan Garrity, owner of R and R Connectivity and a proud member of TKW, is equally enthusiastic. He said, “I am inspired by the work being done by La Escuelita and feel it is imperative to give these kids the best shot at success. Thanks to the generosity and dedication of our TeKnowledge community, we are going to make a huge impact that will reverberate through generations. I can’t wait for October!” La Escuelita is the next in a line of community organizations that have benefitted from the annual #TeksGiving grant through TKW. Last year, MissionFit in Baltimore, MD received a complete tech overhaul. In 2022, Berachah Church in Cheltenham, PA received more than $175,000 worth of services and products. And in 2021- TKW’s inaugural year- the Ben Wilson Senior Center in Warminster, PA received a modernized entertainment, communication and wi-fi package that benefitted not only the senior citizens who utilized the building, but the special needs youth groups who call the facility home.
